This scull was designed for use by a parent/child combination on rivers or lakes. More full bodied than racing or other training versions, it naturally offers more buoyancy and greater stability at rest. At each end, there is a watertight compartment to help support the craft if swamped. Moreover, its graceful slim hull shape will give sparkling performance to an adult oarsman.
The round bilge hull shape of this scull is build from two layers of 3/32" veneer or plywood each laid at a 45° angle to the longitudinals, 90° angle to each other. Slightly more difficult to build than a hard chine flat bottom design, the rounded bottom gives it a lower wetted surface for enhanced performance, and a better looking craft.
