 The Bobcat complete boat kit has thirty precision cut parts. The kit can be assembled in a weekend, only a few simple tools are required. Complete easy to read instructions are included along with all of the fastenings, silicone bronze nails, screws, glue etc. Any outboard motor from 5 to 15 H.P. can be used and although, extremely fast, (25 MPH with a 5 H.P., 35 to 40 MPH with a 15 H.P.) it is not intended for rugged competition racing as are some of the other boats in this website. This is a good first boat as a Father and Teenager project or Teenager project with Dad or Mom looking on.
The Bobcat has been designed for boys who want an inexpensive but fast rugged little hydroplane. The Bobcat is an ideal boat to race around the bay and will run circles around the so called speed boats on your small local lakes. This boat can't be beat for its size. Only a few simple tools are needed. No electric saws or machinery required as we have done most of the work. All that is left, is the assembly, some trimming and fionishing to complete the boat.
