TARPON 14 - #B 46
A general purpose seaworthy boat, of double-chine construction, built upside-down on frames. Length 14 ft. 0 in., beam 5 ft. 6 in., total height (cuddy removed) 2 ft., weight 250 lbs. The plans give instructions for completion as an open rowing or fishing work boat, as a decked sailing dinghy, with a removable cuddy forward or as a small cruiser. It is possible for four to sleep on board under a canvas cover and the fishing version allows plenty of room for inshore fishing gear. There is an efficient gunter sailing rig, but Tarpon is not intended as a racing boat. Details to convert to a sailing model are included in the plans. See "Sailboat" for the sailing version.
