LAKER 12 - #609
A rundown on all the 12s available today show each to be lacking in some department or other; too sluggish, not roomy enough, inadequate buoyancy, too tender, etc. We have realized this and all the missing links, plus desirable features are to be found in Laker. No wonder she creates so much interest wherever she goes.

Laker is designed to be safe and stable as possible for family use and should be manageable by two in a 20 mph wind or single handed in breezes up to 15 mph. She sails quite well with 450 lbs. aboard.

The hull is particularly strong yet quite light, an amount manhandled without trouble by two adults.

The boat is built upside down around the buoyancy tanks, the transom, two permanent frames, a permanent bulk head and a temporary mold. Any amateur would be able to build one of these dynamic little craft from the detailed plans, step by step instructions.
